Where the Data Comes From
All salary data on FedPay.ca is extracted from collective agreements published by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. These agreements are negotiated between the Treasury Board and bargaining agents (such as PSAC, PIPSC, CAPE, and others) and are public documents. We compile this data into an easy-to-use format so federal employees can quickly access their pay information without digging through lengthy PDF agreements.
Inflation data (CPI) is sourced from Statistics Canada. Tax brackets and deduction rates are updated annually based on Canada Revenue Agency publications and provincial tax legislation.
How FedPay Works
FedPay.ca is an independent community tool. It turns thousands of pages of Treasury Board collective agreement PDFs into an instant lookup. The site is maintained independently and updated as new collective agreements are ratified by Treasury Board. Every salary figure is cross-referenced against the official Treasury Board collective agreement publications.
The take-home pay calculator is updated annually to reflect current federal and provincial tax brackets, CPP/CPP2 contribution rates, EI premiums, and public service pension contribution rates. For full methodology and data sources, see methodology and sources.
How We Keep Data Accurate
When a new collective agreement is signed and published by Treasury Board, pay tables are extracted, cross-checked against the official PDF documents, and added to the database. Historical salary data goes back to 2017 for most classifications. Tax and deduction calculations are verified against CRA and provincial revenue agency publications at the start of each calendar year.
If you notice a discrepancy between FedPay.ca and an official Treasury Board rate, please report it. Reported errors are typically corrected within 24 hours.
Important Disclaimer
